To The Lighthouse. Fourth in my series of six larger format acrylic canvases chronicling the evolution of a storm off Connemara in the West Coast of Ireland. This canvas, and its sister paintings, were painted outside in the Autumn squall, using only rags and a scalpel. I was listening to Mahler throughout. It wasn’t quite JMW Turner fastening himself to a mast, but it was the best I could do in the circumstances. I loved painting this series, and I love to see them together. They are however, available to purchase individually. 10% of the sale price of this painting will support the sterling work of Galway RNLI.
