I have long been fascinated by Rock n Roll, not just the songs, or the way dynamic music touches the heart, but by the ability of artists to interpret and present their songs live. This larger acrylic, captures a moment from the early 1970s when David Bowie in partnership with Hull-born guitar slinger Mick Ronson, set audiences alight with Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars. The song Lady Stardust, perfectly encapsulate the shock, courage and glamour of those early incursions into the foothills of glam. This was painted to commemorate the 5th anniversary of Bowie’s passing on 10th January 2016. It is one of a series of 5 larger canvases depicting iconic rock n roll songwriting and live partnerships.
