This acrylic on stretched canvas, represents an optimistic perspective on a landscape local to me in the English Peak District. Often seen as a bleak and harsh landscape, the Dark Peak has an iridescent beauty, and a vibrant quality, particularly at sun-up on an early summer morning. In this piece the colour and tone is deployed to set up a rhythm which will guide the viewer through the landscape and into their own memory of nature. This painting has been created as an antidote to the restrictions on our movements during Covid times.
